. it is my understanding, for example that in 2008, the one vice presidential debate between biden and pailin drew more interest than other debates. i guess because people were wondering what kailyn was going to do. and i mentioned the one in 1998 between bentsen and quayle. there are other cases of dramatic moments as well. we should definitely pay attention to the vice- presidential debate as well. host: robert in queens, new york. republican line, good morning. caller: if the mainstream media were to cover this in a normal fashion like they should, do you think people would pay attention? there are a lot of people but do not know this exists. there were only 45 seconds of the transcript from what i understand. i just like to know how you feel the election would be assuming the mainstream media were to cover things like this. it is definitely not on any front page of any paper today and i believe it is front-page news. host: and just for some context talking about this obama video, it says it was billed as a bombshell. guest: some republicans might say this is the from the answer to the 47%

in denver then he heads to madison wisconsin. joe biden is in iowa and mitt romney is in virginia. but who wants to talk about all of that when what you really want to talk about is the debates. a lot of claims thrown around last night. we're going to do some fact checking for you this morning. but first let's start out with a bit of a recap. of the debate was moderated by mitt romney. oh wait, we mean jim lehrer who i think it is safe to say did worse than expected. the president did not perform up to his usual standards and mitt romney came out swinging taking a very offensive approach against the president as well as jim lehrer, big barned the entire pbs crew. the debate focus around the economy as we knew it would and the candidates traded jabs over tax policies for the middle class. >> romney: under the president's policies middle income americans have been buried. they've been crushed. i will not under any circumstances, raise taxes on middle income families. >> obama: now, five weeks before the election, he
